Gucci thrift sale

Expect duels with handbags at dusk as Manhattanites compete for the $500,000 worth of Tom Ford-era Gucci designs which the Housing Works Thrift Shops chain in New York is selling off this month. The sale is scheduled to kick off on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Housing Works' renovated Chelsea flagship at 143 West 17th Street.

For those who can't make it, you can bid online for items including this slinky black goddess dress.
